Come to the island alone. Leave with friends.
The biggest barrier to meeting people isn't wanting to — it's that awkward moment when you're standing alone and don't know who to talk to.
At a friend table, that moment never comes
You arrive alone, but you're seated straight away with others there for the same reason. The wine is the excuse to talk, and the sommelier works the tables keeping the conversation going — so no one has to be left on the edge of it.
And the place does the rest. Vallisaari was a closed military island for over a century; now you reach it by ferry from the Market Square. The Friday 1 pm tasting is the island at its calmest — a small group, five wines, a tapas buffet, and a sea view that makes people forget the time.
Come for two hours. Maybe leave with the people you didn't come looking for.

Wine Memories
A wine diary, on a map.
Wine isn't just flavors — above all, wine is a shared experience. Wine Memories saves the moment — the wines, the people, the place — in a diary you'll open together in winter. The map holds over 3,000 wine experiences across the world — from Rome's cellars to Burgundy's slopes. Tonight becomes your first memory.
